According to wikipedia, “ Racetams are a class of drugs that share a pyrrolidone nucleus. Or in lamens terms they are mind enhancing drugs that all share the same structure, which includes oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen .
What do they do?
They help to improve the brain in areas of learning, memory, focus, mood and energy levels

Aniracetam; Brivaracetam; Coluracetam; Dimiracetam; Etiracetam; Fasoracetam; Imuracetam; Levetiracetam; Nebracetam; Nefiracetam; Nicoracetam; Oxiracetam; Phenylpiracetam; Phenotropil; Piracetam; Pramiracetam; Rolipram; Rolziracetam; and Seletracetam.
How do they work?
They stimulate the receptors for the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and some also improve uptake of glutamate by activating AMPA and NMDA receptors.
What are the benefits?
Many people claim that they can focus longer, that they are in a better mood and that their memory improves.
Are there any downsides to taking them?
Some racetams must be taken in a stack with other supplements. For example, aniracetam should be taken with a choline supplement or some people experience headaches.
